`The dynamism of nature has always captivated me. The landscape is vibrant and forever changing, and yet there is an underlying constancy of molecular structures: a silent grid of geometry that remains hidden from our eyes. My oil paintings, with their obscured gridworks and patterns, often deal with this message.

With my encaustic works, I find that manipulating and melting the beeswax is nostalgic for the mutability and unpredicability of nature itself.` Ian Varney
